Precision Fuel & Hydration arrives in Latvia as Bellum becomes the brand’s first authorised retailer
SIA Bellum has started a direct collaboration with Precision Fuel & Hydration (PF&H), becoming the brand’s first authorised retailer in Latvia. PF&H hydration, electrolyte and fueling products are expected to become available on gigants.lv around the beginning of October. The collaboration will add a considered, science-led range to our portfolio, designed primarily for endurance athletes while remaining relevant to active people across many sports.
PF&H stood out to us because of its professional approach, product quality and clear philosophy: athletes do not all have the same fluid, sodium and carbohydrate requirements. Rather than offering a single universal solution, the brand helps athletes understand their individual needs and build a fueling and hydration strategy suited to the duration and intensity of exercise, environmental conditions and personal sweat losses.
Created from first-hand experience
Precision Fuel & Hydration grew out of founder and triathlete Andy Blow’s own experience. Despite following the commonly accepted hydration advice of the time, he suffered from cramping and other hydration-related problems when racing in hot conditions and over longer distances. His search for a better solution, supported by medical and sports-science expertise, highlighted the substantial differences in sweat rate and sodium loss between individuals.
That experience shaped both PF&H’s personalised approach and a range initially developed to solve problems its own athletes had encountered in practice. Today, PF&H works with professional teams and athletes across running, cycling, triathlon, motor racing and many other sports.
Hydration is not one size fits all
One of the clearest features of the PF&H range is its choice of electrolyte strengths. PH 500, PH 1000 and PH 1500 indicate the amount of sodium in one litre of prepared drink: 500, 1,000 or 1,500 mg respectively. This allows athletes to select a concentration that better reflects their sweat profile, the duration of exercise and the conditions, instead of relying on one standard formula.
All three hydration levels will be available in Latvia in several formats, including effervescent electrolyte tablets, powdered drink mixes and electrolyte capsules. Our initial focus will be on the hydration range, designed to help athletes start well hydrated and manage fluid and sodium intake before, during and after exercise.
Fuel and hydration are connected but distinct
Within the PF&H system, fueling and hydration are related but can be adjusted independently. Precision Fuel products provide clearly measured quantities of carbohydrate, while Precision Hydration products support fluid and sodium planning. Separating these elements makes it easier for athletes to adapt each part of their strategy as the demands of training or competition change.
The planned gigants.lv range will also include most of the PF&H fueling line, such as energy gels, caffeinated gels, chews and carbohydrate drink mixes. Many products provide 30 g of carbohydrate per serving, making intake easier to calculate and monitor during long sessions and events. Mild flavours are designed to reduce flavour fatigue over longer distances, while carefully selected ingredients support practical use during exercise. Relevant products are Informed Sport certified or independently batch tested for a wide range of prohibited substances, an important consideration for athletes who need confidence in the products they use.
Knowledge alongside the products
PF&H’s approach goes beyond selling products. The brand offers a free Fuel & Hydration Planner that provides athletes with an initial personalized strategy, as well as an extensive Knowledge Hub containing articles, videos and podcasts about hydration, fueling and performance. These resources help athletes understand not only what to use, but also why and how a particular approach may fit their situation.
Bellum’s collaboration with Precision Fuel & Hydration is a logical step in the development of our sports-nutrition portfolio. Until now, our range lacked such a complete and systematic solution focused specifically on the fueling and hydration needs of endurance athletes. The first PF&H products are expected on gigants.lv around the beginning of October, with more information about the range to follow closer to launch.
